ROCK CLIMBING IN PALMDALE!

Monday, March 16th: Well what a day this was!! Our friends, Diego and Mariela, asked if we wanted to go rock climbing on Monday. Of course we were excited and said yes! So we drove down to Los Angeles to stay the night with them Sunday night. Monday we left early for Palmdale. They have a rock climbing book that has all the different locations of good climbing. They hadn't been to this location and asked if we wanted to check it out with them. It was so beautiful! It was such a perfect day...actually REALLY warm! I think it was about 80 degrees! And do you see the snow on the mountains?! Yea, it was gorgeous! So let me tell you about our journey.... the map isn't the best on the book, but we knew which way was North and South. So we headed on the trail... and we were off.... We came across a couple of these fun little creeks. I had to take pictures of it....

Then we just kept walking..up and down..over rocks and streams...this picture cracks me up of Diego. hah!

We started walking at 10 am.... by the time lunch came...it was about 12 pm...still no rock to climb! That's right..2 hours and counting!

We finally got there around 1:45 pm!! Yes...it took 3 hours to get there. We were so tired and our booties were burning! We were laughing the whole time. The best part was when we would climb to the top of one rock to look around to find out which way we should go. ha! It was so much fun! When we got there, there was this design....I hate when people graffiti on nature, but we had to bring light to the situation! :) keven cracks me up!

The rock didn't have many climbs that we could do...but the one that we did was so much fun. By the time we were set to climb we were exhausted, but the climb was still awesome! It was a total different rock then we had climbed before. It made things very interesting! Keven did awesome!

I love this picture...thanks Diego!

I don't know where my eyes went on this one! I was trying to look scared...

Oh man, this one cracks me up too. We all were trying to take pictures of being scared. Check out Diego's face. He's pretending to be "saving" Keven from being eaten by the monster...check out Keven's face! hahah! We were trying to figure out why he was making that face and he said, "I couldn't figure out my emotions.." hahah!!!

Here's the view from the base of the rock we climbed. SO SWEET!

So as mentioned earlier...we went on a 3 hour hike to get there. We were wondering how long it would take us to hike back. Yea...it took us 10 minutes! We couldn't believe it! We went the total opposite way! We were suppose to turn left but we turned right...and yea...got lost. From the picture below, that was the way we were suppose to go. Oh and our car was facing the rock we were suppose to climb, but we didn't know that at all! Regardless, we had a blast and had some great memories that day!! We then, of course, had to hit up Red Robin. It's become a wonderful tradition...we absolutely LOVE RED ROBIN! Thanks Diego and Mariela for inviting us!
